Bacterial IsolateProfile in Gram-Negative Urinary Isolates: Role ofNitrofurantoin

چکیده

Background: In current times epidemic drug resistance has renewed interest in drugs belonging to the yesteryears, most importantly Nitrofurantoin for urinary tract infections. Studies have reported that more than 90% of infections are due enteric Gram-negative organisms, which 80% E.coli.Objectives: To study bacterial profile isolates and evaluate role nitrofurantoin. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 500 consecutive bacteriological nitrofurantoin sensitivity patients at a tertiary care facility India between January June 2022.\Results: had total Gram- negative isolates. 383 (76.6%) these were found be susceptible nitrofurantoin. E. coli alone constituted 343 (68.6%) Gramnegative isolates, 264 (76.96%) sensitive 20 (4%) Proteus 05 (1%) Citrobacter species isolated resistant 12 (80%) out 15 Acinetobacter All (100 %) Pseudomonas tested nitrofurantoin. Conclusion: is common uropathogens despite rise antibiotic resistance, it continues Resistance also being this calls judicious further use based on culture reports local prevalence data.International Journal Human Health Sciences Vol. 07 No. 02 April’23 Page: 162-165

Genome Sequences of Nine Gram-Negative Vaginal Bacterial Isolates

The vagina is home to a wide variety of bacteria that have great potential to impact human health. Here, we announce reference strains (now available through BEI Resources) and draft genome sequences for 9 Gram-negative vaginal isolates from the taxa Citrobacter, Klebsiella, Fusobacterium, Proteus, and Prevotella.

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial properties of CuO nanoparticles against gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains

Nano structured materials have wide range of applications due to their interesting size-dependent chemical and physical properties compared to particles of size in the range of micrometer. Copper oxide nano materials are of interest on account of their potential uses in many technological fields. In this study  CuO nanoparticles were synthesized via simple sol gel method using basic CuSO4<...

Gram-Negative Bacterial Wound Infections

Acinetobacter baumannii is recognized as an emerging bacterial pathogen because of traits such as prolonged survival in a desiccated state, effective nosocomial transmission, and an inherent ability to acquire antibiotic resistance genes. A pressing need in the field of A. baumannii research is a suitable model strain that is representative of current clinical isolates, is highly virulent in es...

Gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial toxins in sepsis

Bacterial sepsis is a major cause of fatality worldwide. Sepsis is a multi-step process that involves an uncontrolled inflammatory response by the host cells that may result in multi organ failure and death. Both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria play a major role in causing sepsis. These bacteria produce a range of virulence factors that enable them to escape the immune defenses and dis...
